What You’ll Do
As a Senior Property Accountant, you’ll serve as a key member of the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple properties and entities.
Key Responsibilities for Senior Property Accountant
- Lead month-end close activities for assigned properties and legal entities
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide insight into key fluctuations
- Support annual audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Assist with multi-entity reporting, consolidations, and portfolio-level financial analysis
- Partner with leadership to enhance accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and internal controls
- Collaborate with property management, asset management, and other cross-functional teams
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen financial reporting processes
What You Bring
Required Qualifications for Senior Property Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- 4+ years of progressive experience in property accounting, real estate accounting, or financial reporting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Experience with financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work efficiently with large datasets
- Experience supporting audits and maintaining strong internal controls
- Experience with Yardi software
Preferred Experience
- Background in commercial real estate, industrial real estate, REITs, institutional real estate, investment management, or similar environments
- Experience working in multi-entity accounting structures
- Exposure to portfolio-level reporting and consolidations
