Senior Staff Accountant
Global Professional Services Firm | Chicago, IL (Mostly Remote)
We are partnering with a highly respected, international professional services organization located in downtown Chicago to identify a Senior Staff Accountant.
The role offers strong exposure to corporate accounting in a well-structured environment with meaningful growth potential. Ideal candidates will have 1–2+ years of experience and be early in their career, sharp, curious, and eager to develop.
The position is mostly remote, with an expectation to be onsite approximately 4 days per month. Additional office time is optional for those who prefer it.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting activities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Assist with monthly and year-end close processes
- Complete account reconciliations, including bank and intercompany
- Support fixed assets and lease accounting
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
- Partner cross-functionally with AP, AR, Treasury, Tax, and international finance teams
- Assist with audit requests and documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 1–2+ years of experience (public accounting preferred but not required)
- Public accounting, public/private mix, or strong industry background all considered
- CPA or CPA-track preferred, not required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals
- Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Oracle, or similar a plus)
- Professional, engaged, and personable communication style

Compensation
- $70,000 – $85,000 base salary + bonus
