Key Responsibilities for the Senior Staff Accountant:
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Support month-end close and maintain accurate general ledger activity.
- Manage prepaid expenses and fixed assets from detailed schedules.
- Support payroll accounting, reporting, and account analysis.
- The Senior Staff Accountant will analyze GL data, investigate variances, and support financial reporting.
- Assist with audit requests, process improvements, and accounting automation initiatives.
Qualifications for the Senior Staff Accountant:
- 1+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, including GL reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and large data set analysis.
- Ability to work with raw GL data dumps, build reports, automate calculations, and identify trends.
- Experience accounting for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AP, AR, revenue approvals, and related schedules.
- Strong attention to detail with clean work papers; payroll accounting and reporting experience is highly preferred.
