CFS has partnered with a mission‑driven human services nonprofit in Braintree, MA that provides employment services and community living support for individuals with special abilities. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their collaborative accounting team.

Job Responsibilities
As the Staff Accountant, you will:
- Prepare journal entries and assist with maintaining the general ledger
- Complete routine account reconciliations (bank, AP, AR, payroll allocations, etc.)
- Support the monthly close process by gathering documentation, reviewing coding, and assisting senior team members
- Help process provider billing and invoice submissions (MassHealth, DDS, and other state programs)
- Maintain organized financial records and assist with contract‑related documentation
- Assist with AP/AR tasks as needed, including vendor setup, payment processing, and client billing
- Support audit preparation by assembling schedules and requested backup
- Participate in process improvements as the organization updates systems and workflows
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of accounting experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience is helpful but not required
- Strong reconciliation and basic GAAP understanding
- Comfortable learning billing processes and contract requirements
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to grow in an evolving environment
- Collaborative communication style and willingness to pitch in where needed
Salary Range
$70,000 – $80,000, depending on experience
