Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
- Execute full-cycle accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial data
- Staff Accountant will support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
- Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
- Provide support for accounts payable and receivable activities as needed
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during audits
- Evaluate and enhance accounting processes and internal control procedures
- Collaborate with operational leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple business units
- Contribute to special projects, financial analysis, and various accounting initiatives
Staff Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Previous accounting internship experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles as a Staff Accountant
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates professionalism and discretion in a member-centric setting
- Comfortable operating within a unique hospitality and residential community environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage respectfully with residents, guests, and team members from diverse backgrounds
