Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

  • Execute full-cycle accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of all financial data
  • Staff Accountant will support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting
  • Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
  • Provide support for accounts payable and receivable activities as needed
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during audits
  • Evaluate and enhance accounting processes and internal control procedures
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting across multiple business units
  • Contribute to special projects, financial analysis, and various accounting initiatives

Staff Accountant Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Previous accounting internship experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles as a Staff Accountant
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates professionalism and discretion in a member-centric setting
  • Comfortable operating within a unique hospitality and residential community environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage respectfully with residents, guests, and team members from diverse backgrounds
