Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and maintain balance sheet supporting schedules
  • Record journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting
  • Monitor and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities
  • Manage and analyze construction job costs, ensuring project expenses are coded accurately and tracked against budgets
  • Review project financial performance and investigate cost variances
  • Assist with job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and contract-related accounting activities
  • Partner with project managers and operations teams to support project forecasting and cost controls
  • Prepare audit schedules and assist with annual audits and compliance reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with significant experience in construction accounting required
  • Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, WIP schedules, and construction financial reporting
  • Experience working with Sage 100 Contractor
  • Knowledge of construction contracts, project billing, retainage, and cost tracking preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to partner effectively with project and operations teams
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
