As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play a key role in the financial operations supporting active communities and development projects. The Staff Accountant will work closely with Accounting, Finance, Land Development, and Operations teams while gaining exposure to construction accounting, sales activity, budgeting support, and month-end reporting.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

  • Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules while assisting with month-end close activities as the Staff Accountant
  • Maintain sales-related accounting activity, including sales journal entries and transaction review, as the Staff Accountant
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, research variances, and resolve outstanding reconciling items as the Staff Accountant
  • Partner with Operations and Land teams regarding purchase orders, invoice coding, expense reporting, and accounting inquiries as the Staff Accountant
  • Support financial reporting, account analysis, credit card reconciliations, and special projects as the Staff Accountant

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger and month-end close exposure
  • Homebuilding, construction, real estate, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred
