The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, with a primary focus on Accounts Receivable, billing, and month-end close activities. This individual will collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all accounting processes.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

Accounts Receivable & Billing

  • Process and reconcile Medicaid and Medicare capitation payments.
  • Manage patient pay processes, including coordination with government agencies and third-party representatives.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly invoices for participant and private pay accounts.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding documentation and receivables to minimize delinquencies.
  • Manage Social Security Rep Payee applications, payments, and reconciliations.

General Accounting

  • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation for month-end close.
  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and research variances or discrepancies.
  • Assist with audits and provide general accounting support as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting or accounts receivable required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff and external contacts.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and AR processes.
