Staff Accountant

Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 100% in-office with potential for hybrid once fully trained
Compensation: $70-85K depending on experience

Our client is a growing, innovation-driven organization seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join its collaborative Finance & Accounting team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations and general ledger maintenance
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Process accounts payable transactions and expense reports
  • Assist with cash management and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support financial reporting and audit preparation activities
  • Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic environment
