Systems Administrator

Salary: $50,000 – $75,000 annually, depending on experience

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to support and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure in a fully onsite environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on IT support and systems administration experience who is looking to grow their technical skillset in networking, servers, cybersecurity, and infrastructure support.

The Systems Administrator will assist with day-to-day administration of servers, networks, user accounts, cloud services, and security tools while supporting internal employees with technical issues and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administration and support for Windows servers, desktop systems, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Assist with maintaining physical and virtual server infrastructure, storage systems, and network equipment.
  • Support user account administration, password resets, Group Policy updates, and access management.
  • Monitor system performance, backups, security alerts, and network connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, network, and connectivity problems for end users.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of PCs, laptops, phones, and other IT equipment.
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives including patch management, endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Help maintain backup and disaster recovery processes and participate in routine recovery testing.
  • Assist with administration of DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
  • Work with third-party vendors and IT partners on system upgrades, support tickets, and infrastructure projects.
  • Document technical procedures, inventory, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in IT projects including software deployments, hardware upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and employee information.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or systems administration.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, networking fundamentals, and virtualization technologies.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, and network connectivity issues.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to VMware or Hyper-V environments.
  • Experience with backup solutions, firewalls, or network monitoring tools.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT documentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces when needed for equipment installations or cabling support.
