Overview of the Union Payroll Specialist role:
• Process weekly payroll for union construction employees in a fast-paced environment
• Administer multiple collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) and union wage classifications
• Calculate and process union dues, fringe benefits, pension, health & welfare, apprenticeship, and other fund contributions
• Prepare and submit union remittance reports accurately and on schedule
• Manage certified payroll reporting and ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements
• Review timesheets, job classifications, wage rates, and labor allocations for accuracy
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, audits, reporting, and month-end activities
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and union payroll regulations
Preferred Qualifications for the Union Payroll Specialist role:
• 3+ years of payroll experience within the construction industry
• Hands-on experience processing union payroll and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
• Knowledge of prevailing wage regulations, certified payroll, and fringe benefit calculations
• Experience preparing union remittance reports and managing benefit fund contributions
• Strong understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance requirements
• Experience with construction payroll/accounting software such as Viewpoint, Foundation, Spectrum, CMiC, ADP, or similar systems
• Advanced attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Strong Excel and payroll reporting experience preferred
Salary:
$68,000 – $78,000 annually
