Where We Started, How We’ve Grown
In the late 1980s
Demand was growing for project-based accounting professionals. Dan Casey, Founder & CEO, saw an opportunity for CPA firms to fill that gap through staffing.

In 1994
Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) was founded—launched from the back bedroom of Dan’s home with a desk, a phone, and a vision.
Twenty years later
New regulations required our CPA firm partners to step away from staffing. In 2014, CFS became 100% employee-owned.
In fall 2025
We rebranded as CFS to reflect our broader expertise—while staying true to the values that have guided us since day one.
For more than 30 years, we’ve grown and adapted to meet the evolving needs of clients and candidates. What began as an accounting and finance specialty now includes technology and human resources, helping organizations thrive more holistically.
